The Health Faculty of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is a public research university located in Mashhad, Iran

About 80 years ago, a high school for health sciences was established in Mashhad city that turned into Mashhad Medical School in less than 10 years. In 2014, along with the expansion of Primary Healthcare (PHC) Network in the country, two college public health programs were introduced: Family Health and Disease Control. In 1985, Ministry of Health and Medical Education was established by joining medical and health schools with PHC network. In Mashhad, Narjes College of Nursing and Midwifery was merged with the Jerjani Midwifery and Nursing Educational-Research Complex under the title of the Mashhad Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedical Sciences and Health. In 2009, the departments related to health sciences were separated and Faculty of Health was established.

This faculty has several academic departments including Health Education and Promotion, Management Sciences and Health Economics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health, Safety and Environment, Occupational Health and Environmental Health and a research center working on social determinants of health. The faculty has several labs including Hydraulic, Instrumental Analysis, Environmental Chemistry, Microbiology and Plotting.  Faculty of Health has 48 Faculty members: 11Full professors, 14 Associate professors and 23 Assistant professors and offers several bachelor, master and PhD programs. Recent academic/scientific achievements of the faculty include:

• More than 140 graduates in various study programs of bachelor and master and doctorate each year
• Several national and international conferences and workshops each year
• Numerous national, international and regional studies on different aspects of health sciences

 

According to the latest ranking of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the faculty is among the top five best faculties of the country.
