Workshop for surveying and mapping is the basic and core modules of Environmental Health engineering.
Environmental health engineering students are introduced with theoretical and practical principles of mapping in order to implement water and sanitation projects.
In this regard, the workshop was established with the launch of surveying and mapping field.
At first, Laboratory was located in Azadi unit and then in 2002. It was moved to the School of Allied Health in November 2009 and Surveying and Mapping Workshop was transferred to Daneshgah Avenue - the former Medical College. 
 
Activities
  • Familiarity with a variety of drawings, scale and symbols;
  • Familiarity with surveying instruments, such as an angle finder, leveling, distance finder and other tools and how to use them in the mapping process;
  • Introduction to Geographic location finder system (GPS);
  • Generalities about GIS and its application;
  • Topographic maps of the area;
  • Quantitative measurement of distance, height and angle of a polygon, computation and prorated;
  • Withdrawal effects of artificial and natural topographic maps;
  • Mapping of the curve;
  • Longitudinal profile of the water supply line;
  • Drawing and technical drawing;
  • Working with AutoCAD software, GIS and other software
